Government software solutions

Public sector software has a user base you cannot choose. It has to work for someone on an old phone, someone using a screen reader, and someone who has never used the service before and will only use it once.

Digital services that push people back to the counter

An online form exists but half the people who start it end up at the office anyway. Usually because it asks for information the department already holds, breaks on a phone, times out mid-way with no save, or fails silently when a document upload is too large. The service is technically online and practically not, so the counter queue never shortens.

What we build

  • Citizen-facing service and application portals
  • Form and approval workflow systems
  • Internal case management
  • Registry and record systems
  • Public information and open data sites
  • Appointment booking for public offices

What makes this sector hard

01

Accessibility is a legal floor, not an aspiration

Public bodies are generally required to meet WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 at AA. That covers keyboard operation, screen reader semantics, contrast, focus order and error messaging that makes sense when read aloud. We build and test against it during development, because an accessibility audit at the end of a build usually finds structural problems, not cosmetic ones.

02

It has to outlive the people who built it

Public systems run for a decade or more, often maintained by a different team or supplier. That argues for boring, widely known technology, thorough documentation and no dependency that requires us specifically. We optimise for handover rather than for elegance.

03

Data sovereignty and retention are set for you

Where data may be hosted, how long records must be kept and who may access them are usually dictated by regulation rather than chosen. These decisions shape architecture and hosting, so they need answering before design rather than during procurement review.

On experience in your sector

We are straight about this: these are capability pages, not a client list. Where we have delivered in a sector we will name the client on the projects page. Where we have not, what we bring is the engineering, the compliance groundwork and a willingness to learn your domain quickly rather than pretend we already have.

FAQ

Not a government contract. Our closest relevant work is the Arduino Days 2026 site we built and donated to FLOSSK, which was public-facing community infrastructure rather than a public service. We would rather tell you that than imply a track record we do not have, and we are happy to be evaluated on the engineering and the accessibility work.

Yes. Fixed scope and fixed price are how we work anyway, which fits procurement better than open-ended time and materials. We can provide the scope, timeline and cost documentation a tender requires.
